Why I Choose Health: Providing Access to Information

    Danielle Tate, SVP, Media

At PHM, our roles and reasons for being here are many. We’ve asked people to answer a few questions, letting us know a few of the things that make them unique, what they like best about PHM and of course, why they’ve chosen health.

What is the best thing about working at PHM?
Two things come to mind, so I can’t leave it at just one.

First, the people. This might be cliché, yet it’s true. It goes without saying that everyone is smart and works hard, but add sincere and kind to that list. I’ve had some of the best life conversations with my coworkers. It’s not always about work, but the person and life.

Second, the “evolution.” I have been at the agency for over eight years now and it is amazing how much we have evolved. When I say “evolved,” I’m not just talking about the size, but the thought and approach to health. We are constantly in research and exploration mode, and I love that!

What is the most random thing you’ve ever seen on someone’s desk?

I’ve always appreciated the assortment of bobble heads. We certainly have a variety including sports, celebrities and random people or things that I have no idea who or what they are.

What is your favorite restaurant and why?

Zahav is my fav! I even eat their beets, and I typically can’t stand beets. I’m obsessed with their lamb. They take up to three days to prepare the lamb, including smoking it and then roasting. It is the best lamb I have ever had in my life and I have had lamb all over the world!

What famous person would you HATE to be stuck in an elevator with?

I was asked this question years ago and my answer has not changed. Stephen A. Smith. I still can’t stand him. In my opinion his views and thoughts are never needed.

    Why do you choose health?

Although I am not a healthcare professional, I do feel honored to play a role in helping people manage their health, including by providing more information on niche conditions where there is limited information available. For a majority of my career, I have worked within niche/rare conditions across cancer, blood disorders and pediatrics where information to HCPs, patients and caregivers is vital. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to navigate care and I am fortunate and proud to do my part to help anyway I can.
