Why I Choose Health: Making a Change
Grace Kavulich, Senior Associate, Paid Social
At PHM, our roles and reasons for being here are many. We’ve asked people to answer a few questions, letting us know a few of the things that make them unique and of course, why they’ve chosen health.
Who makes you laugh the most at work?
My entire team! It is a group of hilarious people. Each of us has our own sense of humor and when we are all together, I am convinced we could have our own sitcom.
If you could Work Your World anywhere, where would you work?
There are so many places that I want to travel, but I would love to travel back to Italy, specifically the coast, for Work Your World. I love being anywhere near the water and the beach.
How do you make health and wellness part of your life?
I try to prioritize my mental and physical health every day. When I wake up in the morning, I come up with three things that I am excited about or positive things that I am looking forward to in the day to come. Doing this first thing in the morning really helps me get in the right mindset. I also go to the gym every morning, which not only allows me to set goals towards staying in shape but allows me to clear my head before the start of the day.
What non-work-related skill would you most like to learn?
Playing the guitar. I’ve always wanted to be able to pick a guitar and just start playing!
Why did you choose health?
I didn’t choose health, health chose me. I grew up surrounded by healthcare, as my mom runs her own health practice and my aunt and uncle also work within the industry.
As I started my job search in my senior year of college, working in the health space was not on my radar. Then, I was introduced to the world of healthcare marketing, ironically enough, through my mom’s office! Next thing I knew, I was interning at PHM and then accepting a job offer on the Social team.
The health space has always been present in the background of my life and now that I am actively contributing to it, I understand the satisfaction and sense of pride that my family members felt through this work by making a change.
