    Why I Choose Health: Prioritizing Balance

    At PHM, our roles and reasons for being here are many. We’ve asked people to answer a few questions, letting us know a few of the things that make them unique, what they like best about PHM and of course, why they’ve chosen health.

    Who makes you laugh the most at work?

    Hands down, my teammates Isaac and Nata. They are always cracking jokes, even in the most stressful moments! As we head into launch season, this helps keep work lighthearted and the team connected, even though we are spread across the US, Central and South America.

    If you could Work Your World anywhere, where would you work?

    Taiwan! My family is from there and I spent a lot of time there during my childhood. I definitely miss being there and I especially miss the food. It would be great to spend some extended time there again.

    What non-work-related skill would you most like to learn?

    I have plenty of hobbies including painting, taking care of my plants and baking, but I would love to learn more about crocheting. I think it is such a practical skill to know that is not computer-related.

    How do you make health and wellness part of your life?

    I try to make health and wellness a big part of my life. I go on daily walks with my dog to ensure I always get some fresh air each day. I am also a big fan of PHM’s Peloton membership and take the online classes during breaks when I work from home. I struggle with psoriasis, so I like to make matcha and smoothies at home as an anti-inflammatory remedy.

    For my go-to matcha recipe, I use three grams of Matchaful matcha whisked in a matcha bowl with some hot water. I usually heat my matcha to about 180 degrees, and then add 25 grams of Oatly oat milk and froth so the milk foams up. Sometimes, I also like to add a touch of raw honey for extra sweetness. Once everything is combined, I like to take my time and enjoy. It’s a great way to get my mornings started!

    Why did you choose health?

    I chose health because a healthy life is a balanced life, and I try to prioritize this balance each day. I do this through taking care of my physical, mental, and emotional well-being through small healthy choices like scheduling time to exercise or focusing on hobbies. By choosing health, I can empower myself to live authentically, approach each day with energy and purpose and stay present in both my career and personal life.
